Farmall C not getting a spark

I just aquired my Grandpa's 1950 Farmall C from my uncle who had it fully rerurbished a few years ago. I'm can not get it to spark. I just changed the ignition coil and it started right up and then the the next day I found that I'm not getting a spark to the coil now. Does anyone have any advise on what it could be?

Rub the points with some 320 wet or dry until shiny then see if the engine will start. If you still have a no start and you have a distributor use a volt meter and check for battery voltage on both small terminals with the points open and your ignition switch in the on position. If there's no voltage you need to trace that wire back to your ignition switch and check for voltage at the switch. No voltage at the switch
you need to see if there's being fed to the switch. If voltage is fed to your switch your switch is probably defective. Clean the terminals on the switch to make sure there's good contact. Hal

As good as the above is, you neglected to mention the condenser (capacitor.) Points type systems will not generate a spark without a GOOD condenser

"New" does not mean "good" IE operational.

I always take the points temporarily "out of the problem" by bumping the engine until the points are open. With the switch on, check for battery voltage on the points side of the coil.

If you have that, pull the coil wire, and short the points side of the coil to ground several times, either at the coil, or right at the points, which will check the distributor primary wire. If you can generate a spark by doing so, clean up the points, check the gap and see what you have.

I ALWAYS keep old but "were running" condensers, and have seen new ones defective out of the box

I found that the distribuler was loose and the timing was off. I just have to reset the gap and I hope it works. Does this sound right?
