8n regulator

I bought a voltage regulator at tractor supply for my 1952 8n.The package says fits 8n up to s/n 263844.My s/n starts with a 4.The regulator looks identical to the one on my tractor.Will it work?what is the diffrence between the two?They didn"t have the other regulator in stock.

ounting holes changed somewhere about that time & some VRs need as adapter plate, but if you can mount it, it will work, electrically.
 
Townsend........don't fergitt to "polarize" yer new squarecan voltage regulator after installation. Just "arc-spark" the side-by-side ARM and BAT terminals, engine OFF. You can "polarize" as many times as it takes to feel warm'n'fuzzy ...er... charging. .......the charged Dell

ame BATT to ARM regardless of whether pos or neg ground.
