rear 8n loader

My deceased neighbor has an 8n with buzz saw, dirt scoop, tire chains, and what looks like a rear loader. The loader arms are long with a slim bucket, looks like it mounts to the 3 point and the top link is a hydraulic cylinder. Has anyone ever ran across one of these? It is buried in a shed, and I could not get a good look at it, plus the shed is locked and I can,t always get there when it is unlocked, to check it out better. Make? Worth? or any general info would be nice. Thanks, Bob

I have never seen one but the N-Newsletter had an article on it probably about a year ago.

Someone on this board has one, or at least a picture of one.
I've seen it posted recently.
Hang in there, someone will post it.
I'd like to find one close to me. I think they'd be quite handy without ruining
my front axle parts!

Did it look like this Dearborn Model 19-27? The hydraulic cylinders are not a top link but rather booster cylinders for the 3pt arms

mine is a different model, same idea. 19-87
like TOH says, the cylinders are for a lifting boost.
the loader will work for light loads
without them.

As a small kid of probably about six, I watched from a distance as my neighbor loaded manure onto his spreader using a rear mount loader. It was probably one of these. He would have had just the one tractor at the time, so after getting it loaded he would have hooked onto the old ground drive JD and spread the load.

I used the "Dearborn rear manure fork" extensively in the early 50s. Worked beautifully with the accessory cylcinders and a ground driven JD model "H" manure spreader. First time "all the manure got spread at Dads place and my brothers.
Only real safety issue is "A light front can cause a roll over, when going up a hill, with a full load!!!

7.50 x 10 Industrial on the front
18.4 x 16.1 on the rear on positive offset 16" wide wheels.
I don't know what the rims came off. (auction)
The fronts fit the 8N with no mods.
This tractor had turf wheel adapters on the rear which
matched those huge rears. (about 1/2" thick)
Very tough to mount-loaded tires, very small clearance around the drum.
Also had to notch the fender braces a little for clearance.
It would have been easier to move the fenders in, but the rear loader
brackets were in the way.
Tractor has been sold. I put the loader on another Ford.
Tractor always got a lot of positive comments. looked like a steamroller in person.
Side benefit was with the smaller height tires, gear ratio was changed a little.
In low gear, it would PULL.
