Hello boys & girls
Got a CRAZY idea here and Im wantin to know if I
can do it or will it work
#1--- 1944 H with just a belly pump
#2--- wanting to make up a lifting boom (kinda like a cherry picker sit up) on the rear of tractor to pick up light weight stuff around here
#3--- i know that a belly pump can run a frount end trip loader ok --- never ran one my self so I can only guess that my idea could -should maybe work?
#4 what size hyd. cly. should I be on the look for as in lenght and dia.
#5 what would a good price range be on a hyd hose
I got the idea from a buddy that has a sit up on his 1950 B J D I know I know this is a red site but man would this thing would be great to have aroud here

Cheapest prices for hoses I have seen are from Surplus Center. Your belly pump should be able to operate the cylinder in the device you described, however I do not know how the geometry of the arm should be to work well. The belly pump is low pressure, 500-900 psi are figures I have seen for them, but I do not know for sure.

Could the cheap hose cost more than two braid quality if something bust?? With the belly pump are you going to use one way hyd with no check valves? Bud.

3x16 cylinder.Any standard 1/2"1 wire hose will do the job. However the standard 'valve' may be difficult to control. What about useing a small "boat winch" and cable?Lots cheaper and more controllable.

A three inch cylinder with 700 PSI will have about 5000 lbs of force. From there you need to figure out the geometry of your boom to determine lift travel and capacity.
