Oil sump filter question

I’m resurrecting the 206K-4 engine in my Big Mo 500. It doesn’t have the regular “Float-O-Screen” oil sump strainer. Instead it has something like you would find in an R or RTI engine with a replaceable filter. All there is the base plate and the threaded rod that you would secure the filter with.

Anyways, my question is whether there is a modern replacement for this type of filter or if anyone has any suggestions for some other method to install a sump screen. I was thinking I could make a screen to cover the inlet hole but if someone has already come up with something I would appreciate your input.

Thanks!
John

Surely someone has the correct floating screen for that tractor. I would call Wendell Everett 740-922-3335 or Welters 417-498-6496.

Or you can replace the screen that was on there. Wendell Everett sent me one for my Z back in the "90s.

A good used part would work. That said, One of those late 206 engines was the only one the oil pump would not prime on its own when I rebuilt it. I had to force some oil into the pump through the oil gauge line port to get ti to prime.
