Thermostat

I am installing a thermostat in my RTU. I understand that I have to drill a hole in it. Can some one tell me where and how big the hole must be?
 
I did the same thing on a stock Z. When I did it I used and 1/8" drill bit and I put 2 holes 180 degrees apart. I just put them in the center of the metal disc radius. After doing this my tractor ran cool even when I pulled it back to back.
