Loader for M602

I'm thinking about buying a front end loader for my M602 for snow and junk and brush cleanup duties and maybe a little dirt work. It is a Westendorf WL-30 which is 70's model and for a narrow front tractor. To get it on a wide front I guess it needs the loader taken off the mount, the mount put on and then drive into the loader and put the pins back in. It seems to be a little big for this tractor with a 7ft bucket.Price is about 1/7 of new. Anyone have any experence with this set up or what would be a better choice?

My books don't go back to a WL 30. But I think all the loaders Westendorf made were Quik-Tach loaders. And they all worked on wide front tractors. The sub frame stays on the tractor. There should be a pin or fastner on each side toward the bottom of the upright leg, and you use the hydralics to remove. Unhook hoses and back out. Check their web at www.westendorfmfg.com You should get an idea of what I'm talking about. I might be wrong, that happens often.

Well if you follow this site much you will know Im a 602 friend Ive owned dozens and have the original my dad bought new in 1964. Bluntley the 602 is a Pi $ $ poor loader tractor. If you want to trash a good tractor then do it....just my opinion

I appreciate your concern and have noticed that in previous posts. Since this tractors been in the family we had some experence with learning of its limitations. As a teen ager I went over to the dealer and helped the elderly owner and his brother put in a Torque-Amplifier Clutch so we could buy it. Then at one point My Dad had the idea to plow dirt & scrape it up to fill waterway ditches and noticed the weakness in the engine area. Now it has been fitted with channel side frames like almost every other tractor starting with the Allis Wd and just like the MM U302 has so it been strengthened up some. A person does have to keep in mind a farm tractor is not a industrial Dirt Moving machine or a skid-stir loader. Its the best tractor I have so it going to get treated with care from now on out-You could say its hard days are behind it.Thanks for the concern.cleddy
