Finally got the gvi home sunday. Was trying to get it running today and found that the pump isnt pumping . It has clean fresh fuel and is turning. The rack is free. I took it off and started looking for the problem but i dont have a book and sont want to go too far. Any help is greatly appreciated

Did you check to see if there was fuel at pump? If you have fuel it could be a plug return fitting or line. When you pulled the pump I hope you tied the throttle shaft back becauce a gov weight can come out of place VERY IMPORTANT that is what they they told us in pump school years ago. If it is in the pump it could be the high preasure plungers stuck. good luck Bob

Yes i had plenty of fresh clean fuel to the pump. I took the lines off and made sure they were clear before i did anything. Tge tractor sat for 16 years i took the pump apart found what looks to be the remainder of the fiber coupler all over the inside of the pump.

That ring is for the gov acts like a shock absorber on the rotor you will see two rollers one on each side you can slide them off to the side with there shoe then you will see the plungers one on each side they need to be loose if even one is stuck it will not start remeber CLEAN when working on pumps.
