JD 45 EB 1969 problem

Just bought this combine, and I can't get the unloading auger to shut off. belt is good and loose and even adjusted it more it still turns the pulley and the chain then turns the auger, would a new belt make a difference.

I had the same problem with mine years ago. The pully gets rusty and the belt will not slip.We greased the belt with liquid soap and took emory cloth to the pulley. Make sure the linkage is disenguaging it and when unloading slow down to idle when taking it out.On the 95 that we have now the pivot bolt that tightens the belt was froze up enough that it would go in fine but not out the whole way.
