Header Weight

I need to move a New Holland Combine (Old Red one-475??? Maybe)and Grain Header to a different place about 8 miles away on country roads. I hope to drive the combine with its 4-roll corn head on if it will run which is questionable how good since it was used last 1n 1994 and drove a little in 2001. How much does the grain header weigh and can I slide it on a trailer or flat bed truck. There is not anything under it to slide it or support it. An option would be to take the trip with the Combine and drop the corn head off and come back for the Grain head which seems like pushing it on good luck??

You didn't specify header size, but on a K2 or F2 Gleaner, 13-15 foot headers, they range from 1000-1500 lbs. Grain headers are relatively light compared o corn heads. 4row Gleaner is about 2500 lbs, 6row about 3200.

Thanks for the information. This is a 13' grain header for a 975 New Holland and the reel has been changed to a regualar Gleaner reel??? A 1000 lbs I can deal with but from what I remember about the corn head the back wheels were always off the ground even with a 55 gallon barrel of water and tractor suitcase weights on the back of the combine plus back wheel weights.
