NH 962 snapping roll gearbox

Any of you ever take one of these out to rebuild or replace? Doens't look like a fun job. One gave up on me today - had to finish the last acre or so of the neighbor's field 3 rows at a time. Won't have time to work on it tonight, but if there are any tricks to getting it out quick/easy, I'd appreciate hearing them. On the combine, locked up, or off, maybe sitting on some 6x6's to get a little more clearance?

Ended up taking the row unit off the head. And it turned out the bearing and gears are still OK... the problem was the 3 bolts that hold the bearing flange in place broke or fell out, allowing the gears to unmesh. Lots of time, but low cost fix. Not bad. But I'm kicking myself for not buying a 962 parts head at an auction a while back - the frame was bent, and it sold for less than scrap price. Could have just swapped in a row unit and been back in business.
