3600 pto will not engage

whats wrong have a 3600 ford diesel the clucth stops at half way up and the pto will not engage when I put in with motor off and crank it it turnes all time with clucth down

Pto clutch plate could be stuck to PP.

Need to know more about the tractor. Is it the 8 speed transmission? In which case it would have a live PTO. Or does it have the 6 speed? In which case it would be a transmission driven (non-live) PTO. It could also have the manual reversing transmission, in which case it would also have the transmission driven PTO.

Since you're talking about the clutch stopping halfway up, I assume that you've got the 8 speed with the live PTO, and it sounds like something is broken or bent inside the bell housing that is jamming the second stage of the clutch. I'm afraid you're probably going to have to split the tractor to fix it.

clutch pedal is set in lower position so it will not disengage pto...

remove the clevis pin and reset to high position.

Now... your bill is $300... you can send it to me... LOL

I think that double clevis was used only on the early Thousands. Was gone by 73 that I know of and long gone by the X600s.

Your correct... its was removed except on the narrow and vinyards..

Then it could be adjusted too long (or too low of pedal) then. primary clutch works, seconary does not.

or a stuck plate..
