(quoted from post at 21:55:50 01/29/13) Does a 600 and a 800 Ford tractor has the same rear axle ratio as a 601 and a 801? If not, what is the difference?
eroy, you asked about the rear axle ratio, but by the responses that you received, you would never know it, would you? This is so common on these forums. I guess that if someone does not know the answer, they feel compelled to say something...anything. Probably a God-send to police interrogators!

600, 601 -6.66:1

800, 801 -7.17:1

Row Crop -7.18:1

From OWNER'S MANUALS

The 600/601 uses one ratio and the 800/801 uses a differant ratio.

Even though the ratio is the same in the newer XX1 tractors and the older XX0 tractors the parts are not the same.
There is a break (I think it is in early XX1 production but would have to look it up to be sure) where the pinion gear changes.

If you told us what you are trying to do; or is this just a want to know question; we could give you a better answer.

Thanks for the information. This was the information that I was looking for. A friend of mine was needing this. He is building a pulling tractor. Thanks again.
