641 6v solenoid wiring

My 641 6v solenoid has 2 small terminals. I assume one connects to the switched side of the ignition switch and the other connects to ground through the starter button. Which one does the top terminal connect to and which does the bottom terminal connect to? Also the bottom terminal now has 2 wires connected to it instead of 1, what is the second wire connect to?

op/bottom does not matter. Second wire on one of them is non-factory, so only the person who put it there & Jesus knows what is is, what for, where to or from? I would leave it paired with the one it was paired with if I were not going to investigate & figure it out (of course, being me, I would).

If your button controls the ground side, the second wire on the other terminal is probably just a 6v distribution point for something else needing power. That terminal isn't affected by your operating the starter solenoid.

On most solenoids it doesn't matter which small terminal is used for supply and return.

Thanks guys.....Mainly I wanted to know if it made any difference which terminal was hot and which goes to ground. Apparently solenoids do not depend on direction of current flow in order to actuate them. I guess I should know this!
The second wire coming off the bottom terminal is shares a paired terminal which indicates it was the original harness but I do not know what it connects to! I will try to figure it out but there have been so many splices, etc that this may not be worth while.
