Hey Guys,

Im a John Deere guy, but I located a Ford County 6 4x4 (I think). I was just curious to know any info and production numbers on these tractors. And are they a collectible Ford item? Learning the ins and outs on Ford recently.

Thanks
Jeff

Not sure of production numbers or how many were imported to North America. They were popular here at the time but were soon replaced as larger 2 wheel drive tractors came on the scene. I know where there are a few parked or occasional use. Basically they were English Fords modified by County tractor company and sold by Ford dealers. Being based on the Ford 5000 made them a tough tractor and for the time a long life machine. One problem with the first ones without a cab was that the operator ate dirt all day long

They were built by the County Car C0. overseas.(England ??) They used the Ford Chassis.
This is a Fordson Major with the County 4x4 conversion.

i had a chance to buy one a decade and a half ago.. passed.. had bad hyds. probably should have gotten it i guess.. they are not common here..

It's as collectable as you want it to be...
There's not a lot of them around, but they are around... in sufficient numbers to not exactly be considered 'rare'.
