ford 4ooo hydraulic

I have a ford 4000 with a loader and a select o speed transmission the loader goes up slow and jerky and squeals. The hydraulic fluid is full.Could it be a clogged filter? If it is how do you change it? Any help is welcome! Thanks, Louie

which 4000? 3 cyl or 4 cyl?

how is the loader plumbed? fromthe top cover hyds using built in pump? or from a front pump?

what hyd fluid?

what's the fluid look like?

lots of important details you need to tell us before we can help you.

right side fluid? that sounds like the tractor rear end/hyd sump.

if you have a front pump.. is it not using a seperate sump? perhaps one inside the laoder frame? follow the hoses.. no guessing.. :)

A 3 cylinder 4000 with a S-O-S transmission has two level check plugs on the right side by your feet. One is for the transmission and the other is for the rear end and 3 point hitch hydraulics. If the fluid in either of these is black, the fluid and filter(s) for that component (trans or rear end) should probably be changed, but if you have a front mounted pump, meaning in front of and below the grill of the tractor, then it should have a separate reservoir as souNdguy said. A lot of them had the reservoir inside of the loader frame. If that is the kind that you have, then the the filter is most likely up inside the bottom of the left upright of the loader frame.
