i screwed up and removed the battery cables some time ago and didn't draw where they go. one goes to a terminal on the starter, the other goes to a terminal on the solenoid. can anyone help me with this? thanks a bunch.

Your tractor may not be wired like it was originally, so this information may not apply, but if you're pretty sure that yours is still wired the original way, then here goes:

Originally on your 3600 the negative side of the battery was connected to ground through the black cable. The other end of the black cable from the battery end was connected to ground at one of the mounting bolts that mounts the starer to the engine so that the ground connection between the battery and starter is as good as possible.

The positive side of the battery was originally connected to one of the large posts on the solenoid via the red cable.

that's how i thought it was. i realized that i can check that starter stud for ground also. thank you, sean.
