4500 Hydro filter/screen clean change.

When I removed the split backhoe hose hydro oil kept running out. Had to drain about 3 gallons of hydro fluid and then raise the hose up to the hoe seat to get it to stop.

Thinking the front reservoir is empty. Probably a good time to clean screen?

Anyone with a 4500 have any tips, gotchas or DON'T do's.

Tks

P.S. not tractor work today, gotta stain deck before it rains.

If SoundGuy is poking around, he may give his magic formula to help clean the permanent filter. Works very very well (btdt).

If you have the chance, of course do filters. Do you really want to tear things apart again for a five or ten minute job that you can do now? You could be staining the deck rails or something (like enjoying that deck!!)

Tank outlet screen is p/n C7NND893A and should be able to be cleaned if not damaged or collapsed. Gasket p/n is C5NNG879A. Return cartridge filter p/n is 86546607 and is located under the round cover in the top of the tank.

that mix i use is pretty common.. just diesel, atf in some cases and alcohol, if the sump is wet.

if he's got it apart.. i'd replace that retrn filter.. screen should be easy to clean..

Tks for the info/replys.

Going to get over to new Holland Dealer and get the filter and gaskets hopefully today or tomorrow AM.
