deere 4020 4wd serial number

Hi- just got a 4020-D? loader with hyd front drive home ( very tough job with a small trailer) . I cant find how too read the serial number. The tag on the RIGHT rear axle is
SNT213P093199R but does not look like numbers I've seen. Also seems to be a large stain on the block front weep hole, is this bad? Any help would be great. Thanks Dan.

Something is wrong as the HFWA was not available as early
as 1965.

I would agree... a 1965 would not have hyd front assist from the factory. That option came in '69 with the console changes.

If I'm not mistaken, the console tractors did not have the weep holes in block, either... but I could be wrong on that.

Coolant weeping from the hole means that one of the o-rings on the piston sleeve is leaking. Keep a close eye on the crankcase oil. If it shows signs of coolant, you need an engine overhaul.

First off the serial number will be on the back right hand side below the SCVs.The S.N.# you gave is not correct.All 4020 numbers start with 3 digits followed by and r for syngro or P for power shift even though they don't know how many P.S. were made followed by the 6 digits TxJim gave and followed by an R.Example 213R270288R which is the last 4020 built and is still at JD.Check again and we will try to help you.The HFWA was made on 20 series starting in 1969 you may have a after market one on earlier tractor called an Elwood.They aren't much good except to look at.A picture will answer your question as there are some knowledgeable people that are willing to help.If the scv levers are on the dash front has been added.

I reread my answer and did not realize you probably gave correct S.N.# making it a 65.The prefix STN threw me along with right rear axle mounting as it is a 65 P.S. now we now know HFWD was added.The weep holes are to alert you that the O rings are failing and somewhere in future might need O.H.My mistake.

Is that your tractor? The front hubs don't look like a Deere HFWA, maybe a few pictures of the axles would help us identify it.
