Had more time to investigate and forty40 I believe is correct. Turns out, after cleaning it out with brush, it wasn't the cast bowl rusting, it was as he said,dissolved rust from tank or fuel itself as pics show there was quite a pile of it in there. As you can see the cast isn't really rusted at all. Sediment bulb collected larger pieces. The tank was cleaned 4 yrs ago albeit not blasted clean and/or sealed. Wasn't really that bad. Anyway,to make long story short, it wasn't the cast rusting. Also note the PPG base coat overspray inside bowl that's been there in gas 4 yrs and shows no ill affects.
