Have an Army #7 WW II Field Plow, and need parts to complete it. Was only patly there when purchased, but want to get it operational for Portland SHow Working on list of what is needed, mostly braces between beams, a hitch part, springs, and a few other things - making a list ???? Any Help ??????<
Thanks Dan

A JD #7 plow is just a very heavy duty 4-14 bottom moldboard plow - just for plowing fields, however was designed to plow a depth of 6" to 14".

Quite big, 4 bottom plow weighs around 2300#.

I wanted to call you back but saw this post instead. ive never seen a No 7 plow anywhere except for pictures. I'd suggest contacting Dave Wolf [email protected] as it's possible he may know someone with NO. 7 parts. From what I can tell the No 7 you have is the same as other No 7 plows. The only thing I would wonder is if they received a US Govt property number or similar as the military tractors made by JD did.

Thanks Tyler, sent a msg to Dave. Looks like there are very few of these around. This is the only one I have ever seen.
Am sure that this unit was Army, and I picked it up just so it would not go to the scrap yard. I think it would be quite some piece to have completed, would look good plowing 12-14# deep behind our CAT RD7 or Diesel 40.

Will be at the Tri-State Portland IN Swap meet with a big sign asking for info or parts.

Thanks again Dan

Also working on a 8 bottom 1914-15 Case-Sattley and need some beam parts if anybody has a junk one?

Tim - Not sure why the Army had them, but have heard that some were used on Pacific Islands to plow fields to raise crops for the troops there. Better than shipping everything in. Maybe someone else can provide better info.

That makes a little bit of sense,,and common sense was still used back then,,,not much any more...
