620 3 point is spongie

i have been plowing with my 620 john deere..today the 3 point feels spongie..what i mean is with the plow off and as i stepped down on the lift arm to step down the arm went down about 6 to 8 inches..then it went back up..i can grab the arm and push it down but it does go back up..whats wrong here...with the plow on it doesn't want to pick it up very good..is the pump going bad or ????

You have air in there. How is the oil level in the reservoir? When I had that leaky old DuAl loader on my 630 I'd get air in the system when the reservoir ran low. The three point would sometimes get spongy for awhile till I topped off the oil and cycled it a few times. Jim
