I have been looking for a 59 snowblower for the front of 709 4x4. The main problem I have had is that none of the ones that I have come across have the mount for a 790. And that mount is very very tough to find and can't be had from deere. The other day I found the mount and bought it. Got it today. The bearings were toast and the fellow who sold it was good enough to include new bearings. Problem is that I don't know how this thing should come apart. I know how I think it should but I do not want to start pounding on it till I have some input from you guys.
In the pic you can see a pair of collars on the shaft inside the holder body. Neither set screw can be budged. One collar is set the other which is up against it is free to slide up and down the shaft with its set screw frozen as well. What is the most likely way to successfully get those set screws to move? And how would you go about getting this bugger apart. I have plenty of tools but am not machine shop capable. Looks to me like the bearings sit inside of the two gold sandwich holders. Not sure if the bearing inner is heat welded onto the shaft from bad bearings.
gettin a 413 request entity too large. Will try to figure this out and post the pics
