Hydraulic remote issue on John deere 4000

Just bought a 72 4000 and one remote does not return to neutral when you release the lever. Any thought?

Really? I've never been on a tractor that the lever does return to neutral when you let go. One does and one doesn't

There is a detent piston that hangs up in them,,and it could be a bit of drag in the linkage.I would say that about half the ones that come through here don't latch and release well,,of course they have had a lot of use too...

The detent valve Tim referred to are included in parts keys #1-#12. There was a part change(parts key #7A or 7B) at SCV sn 18SC3. There could also be wear in the roller or cam(parts key #7 2nd photo) causing control to hang in detent.
