4010 upper drawbar support bracket repair

Here are some pictures of how we repaired the rear pto housing cover-upper drawbar support bracket without removing the cover. Sure beats splitting the tractor. They must of had trouble with this style, as they changed it on the 4020's.

Yes the rear drawbar support can be removed just by unbolting. They have been known to break from operators running tractors with the attaching bolts loose for long periods of time.

When I stated in your other thread that tractor would require splitting you stated pto housing. FYI the rear drawbar support is not associated with the rear pto quill as tractors without pto still had drawbar support.

I'm glad you got it repaired.

Is that U shaped piece all new additions ? I forget how our 4020 looks ?

If it is all new won't it throw off your 3 pt. hitch width ?

Nothing in above photos will change 3pt draft arm spacing.

This does not change the dimensions for the width at all. The u shaped piece is still the original one off the tractor. The busted casting that is seen laying on the floor is the upper piece of casting that was broken. I cut it off the rear cover. I cut the casting off with a good cut off tool, removed the bottom u shaped piece from the tractor and welded a new piece of flat into it after I drilled the matching holes in it. Larry
