70 LP Primer Button

I have noticed several posts about a primer button on 2 cyl. LPGs. Mine is a 70 LPG, and there is no primer on the Century regulator, but I can see where it has two 3/16" threaded holes where one would have gone. As far as I know, it has never had one. Does anybody have any info as to whether some came from the factory without a primer? It does have a button on the instrument panel, but it is not hooked up to anything. Thanks.
 
My 70 has primer button on dash and on the M-4 century regulator. Wire goes from key switch to the primer button then goes to century regulator. Then a wire from key switch to century fuel shut off/strainer. Mine has a button on regulator also that goes in and out when you hit the button on dash. What model regulator do you have?
 
It's an M4 also. I do have the fuel shut off that works off of the ignition switch, but I guess that this one doesn't need the primer? If you have had problems rebuilding your M4, I finally got mine right, let me know if you need help with that. Thanks, Hugh
 
just took mine apart tonight and it was full of some kind of bugs. I do have a rebuild kit so i am going to attempt this. I may need your phone #. If it always starts i wouldnt worry about it. How does it start?
 
Call me at 318-465-0797. It starts now, real quick even on cold mornings, without any primer aparatus. I have found that the main thing is repairing any damage on the high pressure LPG/engine coolant side, due to corrosion of the aluminum. Lots of sanding on top of a counter top and judicious use of JB Weld did the trick. Hugh
