Saran engine head gasket failure

This is apparently rife over here in Europe , and Deere are on their knees . Do these or the larger Waterloo engines have a bad reputation for blowing gaskets in the USA and Canada? If so , any thoughts why ? The consensus here is that it's a consequence of the wet liner design , combined with higher power outputs and poorer assembly .

The only trouble we get is if the coolant level has been allowed to drop, this will not cause an engine overheat but may cause an ECU 000105.00 charge air temperature or inlet manifold temperature too high code to set along with a ECU 000189.00 engine de-rate. If that happens and the coolant level is not attended to then in most cases 12 to 18 months down the line a head gasket failure will occur. Also not correctly adding coolant to the tractor and opening the valve at the bottom of the radiator and failing to bleed the LTC pump can cause you problems, I have also had to attend to tractors that have had the valve left open.
If the head gasket has been replaced then particular attention to liner standouts must be taken. Also do not misdiagnose a head gasket failure for an EGR cooler failure, the symptoms are the same.
If the tractor is maintained properley then head gasket failure is not normally a problem, when they do fail there is almost always an underlying cause.
The Waterloo engines are wet linerd as well, they dont give as many problems simply because they are not sold in the same numbers as the 4045 and 6068 motors that are built in Saran (CD) or Mexico (PE) Manhiem production nearly always getting a CD motor and Waterloo and Augusta production getting a PE motor This covers tractors right up to the 7930, any thing larger just isnt sold in the same quantity. We have lots of 4045 and 6068 motors out on irrigation pumps which will run constantly from early October through to April and clock up a collossal amount of hours with very little trouble.

B&D , all of them , but in particular everything built since the 6020 series . On another forum it is widely discussed that the engines are blowing gaskets at as little as 2000 hours .
