JD 800 Hitch

When adjusting the lift arms on a JD 800 hitch (not an 800A or 801), what is the maximum amount they can be lowered? How many inches of threads need to be left in the housing?

That's knida an iffy question ? If your threads are in perfect shape then at least as far in as the dia. of the rod I would think as a minimun depth. If the threads are getting sloppy for years of use then they may not hold at any depth ?

Deere did offer an optional adapter to fit up on the upper lift arms to let the lower ones down lower. Listed as for use with a # 20 dirt scoop I believe.

Werent there some pieces to lengthen the lift links if used on the 70 tractor?

Check the PC on that one...I think Im right on that one...

Just a WAG, but I would think (due to age and wear) 1 1/2"-2" of thread IN. Your choice. If in good shape 1" would probly do it. HTH
