Electrical Trouble Shooting

I can"t help but notice many of the postings here are trying to decide if a problem is electrical or fuel. Harbor Freight sells an inexpensive device ($2-4) that I find indispensible for eliminating the electrical question. It is a short length of plug wire with an indicator light in the middle of it. You plug it in line between the spark plug and the plug wire lead. If you buy two, you can watch the spark, or lack of spark, on both cylinders. You can see if there is spark during any misfires or loss of power.

That is a pretty good gauge of if it is making spark.
If the spark is real strong and they are grounded really well, you can get an indication not only in the front, but in the rear.
