I need help please, I have a GPO that was my grandfathers that has not been ran sence 1985 when he passed away. I have tractors, I understand cleaning the gas tank and the carb and so on. What I can't seem to figure out is how to start the darn thing. Anyone know of a web sight that can give me some pointers on starting and turning off this great tractor. Please Help, Thanks Jeff

You must have four things to start a engine. Air, Fuel , Spark
Compression. Is the carb clean and have a good flow of fuel? Since the tractor hasn't ran in 27 years I would put some oil in the cylinders and turn it over several times to lube the cylinders and rings. I know nothing about those mags so your on your own there. Good luck. Neat machines

Most just turn the fuel OFF and let it run out of fuel, to stop the engine...

If it is a "GPO", I can't help with the starting..not knowing what shielding is on it..

I'm sure its a GPO, the year I'm not as sure on. I had looked at some pictures to come up with a year off of Google. So we all know the internet is on always right, LOL

Thanks for the advice, I have everything done and ready so I think to make it run. I just would sure like to find someone who knows the tractor and the mag set up. I thought I could find aperson in my area but no luck so far.

What is the serial number of the tractor? I have 2 GPO's myself. They work no differently than a regular GP, D, A, B, G or any other 2 cylinder tractor.
