JD60 stalls after running 20 minutes

Hello, I have a 1955 JD60. After running it for a 20 to 30 minute span it acts like it has run out of gas. it will fire again on full choke but, never winds up. If I let it sit over night it will run just like new the next day for about a half hour. Anybody have any ideas.

Thank you.

Just went through it with my 620. Mowed with it for 8 hrs and ran fine. Stopped to unhitch the mower and it sounded like it ran out of gas. Checked and it had plenty left. Put a new condenser in it and it ran fine since.

Had a fellow with a JD 60 running my baler to bale the straw off the thrashing machine at our local steam show. Suddenly just plane quit... Plenty of gas. A new condenser and points and he was back in business. Fortunately, there was a vendor in the flea market with new one still in package.

Yeh, I've got to put a new condenser on my 60 & see if it solves the problem too. I'm thinking it IS the condenser because as the weather is cooler it cuts off once in a blue moon when I'm bushhogging. In the middle of the summer it did it a whole lot more often.

Just had the same thing with my 620. Would run for about 20 minutes and then die. Exact same symptoms. Had new points already, so the next day I put them in. Tractor had cooled off overnight. Started and ran fine. Thought problem was solved until it died in about 20 minutes. Went to the parts store and got new condensor. Put that in and tractor has ran fine ever since. Bob

Well I took the gas cap off and installed a new set of contacts and a condensor and a coil. Still has the same thing going on.So I took out a plug on top of the sediment bowl and the gas ran out strongly. I took the line off at the carburetor and then turned the motor over. the gas didn't shoot out but there was a good stream. What should I do next? Rebuild the carb?
