Ya kind of need to be a bit more specific. Do you used a web-based mail service like gmail, or do use use POP/IMAP and SMTP provided by your ISP? What sort of problems?

I came back from a week in DC once and found I had 455 emails, mainly on social nudity and child pornography.

Social nudity I have no problem with, but no way in he11 do I want my computer even remotely connected with child pornography. Even the techies couldn't figure it out. Finally a gal with the email service figured out somehow postings from a couple of chat rooms were being funneled into my email. She got it stopped and all deleted. (I hope). But, that's been about three computers ago.

I use Netzero. Never had a problem until now. Sending mail to people I know and most I don't. I am an idiot when it comes to computers. So I have no idea what system it uses.

Netzero is an ISP, of sorts. I'm going to assume you're not using an email client like Outlook Express, but rather you're using a web-based service hosted by netzero, and you have some sort of netzero.com email address. e.g. "[email protected]".

Problems receiving email might be stuff being stopped by their spam filter. If you go to your webmail, there should be some sort of "spam" folder where all your blocked emails go. Open it up and see if there's something that should have come through. You can usually "teach" these systems to not block trusted senders by unblocking these messages. You might also be able to change your spam filter settings to be less restrictive.

Problems sending main are usually caused by the receiver's spam filter. Not much you can do about that other than ask them to unblock you in their spam filter.
