'94 sierra pickimup

My '94 Sierra 350 needs a new serpinteen belt and tentioner. I thought I had a book on this truck because I been taken it through it's first 225 thousand miles. Can't come of with it.... Sooo. Tomorrow when I put it in the shop, do you have any suggestions how I set the tensioner when I bolt it on and stick the new belt on?

On my Ford and our Dodge the tensioner is a spring loaded device that automatically applies the right tension to the belt IF you have the right belt. On the pivot on the tensioner there is a 1/2" square hole, a breaker bar fits in and allows you to twist the tensioner to remove tension on the belt facilitating the R&R of the belt. Actually a user or mechanic friendly system.

You can not screw it up, the tensioner only bolts on one way, and the belt will only fit if you put it back on the way it came off.If I remember, on your truck you have a 1/2 square to put in a breaker bar to spread the tensioner If you don t have the belt diagram take pictures before yo take it a part.
