Quincy 310 compressor guru

trying to find someone with some experience with an
old Quincy 310 compressor...;.

will not build over 40 psi and unloader valve is unloading almost continuiously...

any guru's out there

I'm not a guru, but pilot valve may be faulty or may be unloader problems, ie sticking, ruptured diaphragm etc.

I second that. Easy to see if the pilot is ok, just disconnect the tubing at the unloader and see if you get pressure. But most likely the unloader itself is rusted to a point where the pins don't slide in the valve body. If they don't push down on the disk, the valve stays wide open.

No oil pressure/low oil pressure. May be caused by perished o-ring on the stub end of the crank that drives the oil pump.

Perished cup seals in the hydraulic unloader on the crankcase. Won"t build pressure to shut off air to the unloader.

Stuck plungers in the unloader towers.

Stuck pins in the valve body (as mentioned)

Worn o-rings on the plungers.

Stuck aluminum puck under the diaphragm in the unloader tower. Water gets in there and corrodes them in place. Usually a sign that the diaphragms have a split in them.

Try those first.
