Small electric heater

I'm looking for a small electric heater to heat part of my living room. The area I want to heat is 14' x 12'. It does go into a larger dining room. Just need the heater to take the chill off these cool fall nights. Might use 2-3 hrs per night. Hate to turn oil boiler on this early. THANKS for any Help.

The cheapest electric heater you can find with the saftey features you need for any pets, children, or elderly.

I have three small children, we use an oil filled radiant heater 120v,works great and its not hot enough to burn flesh on contact, but it will melt a mountain of crayons, don't ask how I know.

They are cheap and nearly 100% efficient. This radiant heater has no blower but it will take the chill off a room that is 24x24 with 9 ft ceilings, we turn the ceiling fan on low.

Steve We have a Comfort Furnace XL Infrared Heat. Its said to heat up 1,000 sq. feet and runs on 120 volts. The cabinet doesn't get hot you can lay stuff on top of it. It is programable for temp. and will turn on and off as needed. We use ours in upstairs bedrooms in real cold weather.

A metal milk house heater will work fine.It will cost you 15 to 20 cents per hour to run it.Dont get fooled by the miracal heaters on the TV.

You'll want to do your whole house with this setup

I picked up a couple to keep a couple rooms above freezing....

An oil filled heater ($40-$50) like Nate suggested is very quiet and they are usually better made than most inexpensive fan units ($20-$30). We use an oil filled heater to keep our bedroom warmer in winter nights while the rest of the house can stay cooler. A heavy duty timer is handy on any heater that is only used part of the day.

Stopped at TSC in Bangor. They have the milk house heater 1500 watts 22 bucks. Then they have an infrared heater 1500 watts over 300 bucks.1500 watts is 1500 watts,In spite of wild claims the 22 buck heater puts out the same heat.My milk house heater is so old it is made in usa.
