Does anyone know of any brand of boot laces that are not total junk? Seems I only get about a month or 2 out of them. They break right at the lace holes.

The laces in Red Wing boots now last for the life of the boots. Dealers should stock those kind of laces, just can't say for sure. Joe

When I get a new pair of lace up boots I replace the laces with leather laces. I treat the laces when get them and every time treat the the boots.I get 3 to 4 years out of leather laces and wear work boots six days week.

I think that I get pretty good mileage out of boot laces, but it doesn't bother me much when I break one, because I keep the new ones in a drawer right next to where I sit while I put my boots on.

What fries me is that round laces - they won"t stay tied. About all I can find in the storea anymore. Haven"t seen real leather ones for years. Last set of leather I had only lasted a few weeks before breaking - poorly made.

I get the square cut leather laces . Find them in shoe repair shops and once in a while in Wal-Mart. To keep them tied I double knot them.

Good laces are hard to find. I usually can get them at a real shoe store not the bargain basement type. Another thing to check. Does the eyelets have a burr around them??? I have a pair of Red wings that I was breaking the laces in often. The eyelets had a burr or sharp edge in it. It took a tapered pinch and rounded out the hole in the eyelet. The strings have been in those shoes over a year now.

I have a pair of Wolverine boots, the original laces lasted about 6 months, now I get about a month apiece. The laces actually wore the side of the eyelets out.

We have alway had a shoe repair shop in our town and at one time several of them. The one we have now repairs shoes and any thing made of leather.

Where I bought my redwings, they also offered to sell me shoe laces made of kevlar, which were supposed to be the real deal. ....

A shoe shop can rotate the eyelets if worn all sow.
