I currently have a mobile home with a 200 amp service. I am replacing it with a used mobile home that is only a 100 amp service. Is there anyway that I can hook this up running from 200amp fused disconnect to the 100 amp main breaker in breaker box?

Just change those 200 amp fuses to 100 amp ones.

I am by no means an expert, but as I understand it, as long as the wire between the two is heavy enough for the breaker feeding it, you can just hook it up.

You may have to give the wire a "haircut" since the wire may be too large to fit in the 100 Amp lugs. There is no harm in hooking it up as is, if the wire is large enough for the 200 Amp fuses and the 100 amp breaker protects the panel to the 100 amps that it is rated for.

I would leave the 200amp service at the disconnect if it is rated for it now. I would just install a breaker box on the mobile home made for two 100amp breakers with one going into the mobile home and save one slot so you could add a shop or some other use and all you would have to do is run a line for a sub-panel.

It depends on what size wire you run to the Mobile Home...If you use wire rated at only 100 amps THEN THE BREAKER OUT AT THE FEED HAS TO BE 100 OR LESS BUT NOTTTTTTTTTT BIGGER. Since copper is high Id run only 100 amp wire to the MH and protect it with a 100 amp breaker instead of the old 200 well DUHHHHHHHH. If theres existing 200 amp wire to the MH and its protected by a 200 amp breaker that would work to feed an only 100 amp panel IFFFFFFFFF LUGS WILL ACCOMMODATE BIGGER WIRE?????

The breaker is sized such that it wont allow more current flow then the wires ampacity..

So YES a service of 200 amp wire if protected by a 200 amp or less breaker could still be used to feed a 100 amp panel BUT IF IT WERE ME ID STILL CHANGE THE BREAKER DOWN TO A 100 It wont hurt if the wire (if already there) is bigger to reduce voltage drop so long as the wire will fit into the panel. A 100 amp panel may or may not be designed for too much bigger feed input wires

My friend Bubba has a #2 wire stretcher. Just stretch the wire to make it smaller and it fit under the 100 amp lug. Haven't you ever heard of a wire stretcher? They make board stretchers too, so when you cut the board to short you can make it fit.

If you use your existing cable from the service disconnect to the mobile home panel, you will be fine. It should be 4/0.

If you don't want to use 4/0 cable, then you need to install a smaller breaker in the service disconnect.

The first option assumes that you have a main breaker panel in the new mobile home with a 100 amp breaker installed. If the mobile home has only a main lug panel (that is, one with only branch circuits and no main breaker), then you must go with the second option.

The general thing to remember is the purpose of a circuit breaker is to protect wiring, and must be sized appropriately for the wiring, NOT necessarily for the load. In your case, the main disconnect protects the service cable between the main disconnect and the mobile home breaker panel. It can be smaller than the ampacity of that cable, but not larger.

It's been more than 20 years since I did one of these.

Assuming it's built to HUD specs. ( never seen a mobile home built to BOCA specs.)
You must have a panel mounted near, not on, the mobile home. After every thing is wired for it, home, well, etc. there must be room in the service panel for at least 1 more 230 volt circuit.
If the home feed is in a conduit, the ground wire must be an insulated green wire, NOT a bare wire, or an insulated wire taped or painted green.
