I assume you are talking about gardening. My sister did some last year, don't know how big they were. I think she said they worked ok.

Not sure what you mean by a hoop house. I use a rig for doing pole beans and such that could sort of be called a hoop house made of PVC pipe and the beans grow such that you walk under the thing to pick the beans
 
We raise winter tomatoes in two 3000 sq ft greenhouses. 500 lbs per week at peak.
Don't know if thats your "hoop house", but they sure do look like hoops.
 
Friend of mine and her hubby keep three of them going as longas possible for season extension. Right now they are taking fresh radishes and spinach to market. yes they are certified organic.
 
A hoop house is more a less a green house, this is what I told you to check into. Email me if you have any questions.
