snowblowers

Will a 7ft v~type snowblower work on a 24 hp Super C or does this require more power? I am looking at getting something bigger than my walk~behind driveway model.

If all you get is dry fluffy snow a v blower may work on your C. If you get 4" or more of wet snow at one time it will not work. It will bridge up in front of the blower and not feed.

Takes a lot of power to blow wet snow compared to dry. Most reverse gears are to fast in tractors as well.

I have a 8' two stag blower on a 150 hp and there are times I have to push the clutch in to let the blower catch up in drifts and deep wet snow.

The reverse gear ratio was another thing i was questionable on because of how fast it would feed. Thanks for your thoughts, you helped me make up my mind.

I run a 7 foot 2 stage blower on a 27 hp compact tractor.

The keys you _need_ are:

Live/independent pto.

Slow reverse gear.

I could use more hp in deep heavy snow, but the 3 reverse gears - one is very slow - make it work good enough it works well for me. And the live pto allows me to step in the clutch 1/2 way and let the pile of snow clear out while I wait, if I come upon a bigger drift.

It can be miserable trying to run a snowblower without live pto. Possible, but miserable.

Vee blowers have their own set of problems, cheap but there is a reason....
