I'm working on a Farmall Super C. What was the OEM color of the starter and generator, black or red?

They are the same color as the rest of the tractor. The reason that so many are black is the shops that repair them always paint them, and they will paint them any color that you want as long as it is black. So they all go to the shop to get repaired and painted black at some point. People see that a lot of them are black so they think that black is the correct color.
