Since I am repainting and straightening the tin thought I should touch up the medallion while I am at it. The plating is blistered and dull. What is the best technique for restoring a like new finish without spending big bucks replating? Also I have never pounded out dents in tin before. Does anyone know of a good website showing dent repair on tractor tin?

I think that the best technique for making the medallion look new is to throw it away and get a new one. Restoration Supply has them for $49.00.

(quoted from post at 19:49:34 10/08/12) Yesterdays Tractor has them for less than $45.00.

Well that is good, but I could not find them on the site.

I just looked again and found them.

hit harbor freight and get the 17$ body dolly set.

watch overworking sheet metal.. you can stretch the tim.

in general.. a wide flat hammer or dolley and wood blocks are nice places to start
