Dirt in new paint

I just painted my tractor with PPG urethane paint with hardner.
It all looks good except for the hood, I got some dirt in the paint.
I'd rather re shoot the paint than try the buffing thing.
How soon can i sand it down and re shoot? should I wet sand or dry sand or does it matter?

wet sand it for sure. use warm water with a little car wash soap in it. car wash soap will not leave a film like a dish or laundry soap. use your palm when sanding, not your fingers so you get an even finish. rinse with clean water, hit it with pre-cleano (prep sol, final wash ect) tack rag it, then re-shoot.

As for recoat time, spraying paint is no different than spraying herbicide. Always read and follow label directions.

I'm sure it goes without saying , determine what the source of the dirt was and cure it. Dirt in paint isn't just "bad luck" that will change by itself the next time. Paint is expensive , prevention is usually free.

I like the 3m real firm sponge rubber pads for wet sanding. And the regular 3M rubber blocks for larger flatter panels.
Back in the day when we were putting 24 coats of hand rubbed laquer (high spots) on custom cars we wet sanded entire cars three times.
A "standard" repaint in 1956 went out the door for $59.00.
