Had this baler in the shop and they replaced the tucker finger shaft because it was twisted. They also installed a used wiper arm on the knotter that broke. After that they discovered that the face of the plunger next to the knife was missing. So I got a used plunger and put it in. When to check it out today putting in some loose hay to rebale and it broke the bill hook shaft off right above where the pivot is. Trying to figure out whats going on that would cause that.

Whenever you change any parts on a knotter assembly, the parts need to be "adjusted with a degree of precision" or other parts will break. Many of the critical parts are made of maleable iron and designed to be adjusted by bending the maleable iron.

Follow the procedures in the manual(s). Somehow, many manuals forgot to mention adjusting parts by carefully bending maleable iron.
