Wow! That brings back memorys! We vdidnt have a case, ours was an Allis Chalmers but same concept.Lift the table, pull the wagon threw, drop the table then we used corn forks with extra long handels dad made from windmill suck rods. That way you could stand back a few feet and stay out of the dust. we chopped dry hay and blew it into the barn. A lot of forking to feed the cows but I didnt know any other way back then! Thx for pics! Doug

Tom,

We were just discussing long hopper blowers at the local historical society meeting yesterday. Did Case make any with a power unit on? Around here they were mostly AC with a motor and a ratchet drive to unload the wagon (along with hooking the hay or silage with hay hooks into the hopper). The only Case long hopper blower I know of was belt driven. Don

Don I have never seen any self power ones in lit but I sure do not know much about them I was sure very glad my good friend Randall Kastel hauled it out for me around 1300 miles one way and that is all from being on YT!!! I have to say I have met and now know more friends from YT than I have here in my home town don't get me wrong I "know" a lot of people but true friends you can count on a HARD to find sorry for the ramble

I didn't have to go as far as Cnt,only about 10 miles, to get my J2. Don't remember if mine has the unloading option on it or not, but as a kid Dads did have. He custom cut and that old J2 unloaded a lot of wagons and blew a lot of silage. I remember a DC would do a lot better job than a G JD or M IH on the blower. All about belt pulley speed. As a kid it was a great day when the G got stuck on the pile and the M couldn't get it out. Dad had to unhook the C2 cutter in the field and come pull them both off the pile. Great story to tell on the school bus the next day!!

Looks like a nice team the "SC" & "J2" ! I think you could be a all Case farm Tom.
Great pictures and story

Before dad bought a baler (1960) he used a Case blower like that to blow oats straw into the straw lofts
