Case 930 gas trouble shooting ignition problem

Runs for a short time and then shuts down. Replaced all ignition parts. Tried new coil no go. No spark at plugs. Spark at coil. Check contunity
Facing the front of the tractor left side of starter solenoid has 12.6 volts without ignition on, but less then 1 volt with ignition on?
Where should I look? Is it possible the starter solenoid is bad?
What about the insulator on the points and condenser along with coil wire?
Thank you for any advice as I am out of ideas!

Sorry. I reread your post. The solenoid makes contact inside to supply full battery voltage while engaged and engine cranking. Once deenergized the only voltage for the coil comes thru the ballast resistor which cuts it down to about 5-6 volts. So with the key in the on position thats how it should be. Likely bad connections or maybe resistor? I had one go bad coming up my driveway on the 730 a few months ago. Just like the key got shut off.

That's what is causing my headache.
I am thinking the insulator is grounding out. But new one is unavailable from case/international. I will try that tomorrow or go to electronic!

If its the resistor the engine will try to start but then die as you let the key turn away from start position. On a 930 i couldnt say where its at. Id say just follow the ignition supply wire back from the solenoid. Its a white ceramic rectangular piece. One wire in one end and one wire out on the other

,goin thru similar hale, see above post ,,,are you certain you hace adequate gas flow to the carb?? I had weak spark at the points , so i grounded the distributor on the 511 ,,it started rite up and ran ,,,mowed about 50 acres ,that way , only trouble I had then was boilin in the gas line ,after 3 hrs runnin hard mowin ,, so I kept a water jug on the floor bd and would pour a little water down front of tank onto gasline and it would clear up ,, installed a tin baffle heat shield betwwen tank and engine and put some foil on the gasline ,, that helped a bunch ..probably not your current problem ,,. but it may become a problem ,if you run hard in hot weather ,,.the modern B/S gas in my area is oxygenated ,, and has ethanol too . it is my belief that such fuels boil at a cooler temp than REAL gass did when our tractors were built,, don't know for sure ,, wisht some wiser folx could chime in with ideas ,..with as much misfiring and orneryazzn going on with the 500 I am suspecting there is a bad valve ??? ..easiest thing for me to try 1st is check plugs ,,a backfire could have lodged some ancient carbon in the plugs and fouled one out , no lite show at nite with plug wires but , I will put a new set of plugg wires on the 511 , ,, itseems that 2 and 3 cyl,are misfiring ..

Removed resistor and tested ok, checked wire continuity on carb fuel shut off, resistor to solenoid, solenoid to positive side of coil.I am thinking that it is the insulator inside the distributor grounding it.
Any one no where to go now?
I am running out of ideas fast. Thank you for any new ideas.
