730CK PTO clutch???

OK my 'ol 730 gasser is running good....but...the PTO clutch is not engaging well.. :oops: ...Last time I adjusted it (10+yrs ago) It seemed to be gettin' pert 'close to done status. Question is, are the clutch parts still available, and if so, how big a PITA is it to change them???Thanks , Shawn
 
Try this first. If that doesn't work we will walk you through removung the rear tranny housing, without removing too much of the 3pt.

looked thru the hole , and found some loose parts.. :( ...gonna have to limp it thru 2 ac of hay baling and tear it down...anyone have a pto clutch assembly for a late model 730/830???

Funny thing...went to a local wheeler dealer guy that has a pretty clean 1070..6300 hours for 6500 bucks...and I notice another older case in the back...730 CK diesel, with the case o matic...has a bad rod supposedly...he wants to sell the whole thing...so now I am going to sell a few other items to get this tractor, to fix it...as I have really been wanting to switch over to a diesel...and the gas tractor can become a parts machine..maybee...unless I can find a rod , and the crank is not hurt....Shawn
 
OK ..a little update...still working on purchasing the diesel :D ...got the gasser PTO assembly removed, and the previous owner must have overhauled the PTO, cause everything looks new...only problem is they did not stake the nuts on the links between the 2 halves of the PTO clutch :oops: ..you guessed it , one of the links got mangled, nut & bolt, setting in the bottom of the diff, unharmed...I straitened out the links, will be staking ALL the nuts in place, and re-assembling the tractor...Thanks for the help...Shawn
