Old 730 Picture

Harvest time shot about 1974. Had the 732 hitched to the 460 pto combine picking up wheat swath. The Cockshutt 40 on the hopper wagon was the grain hauler. Just a quarter mile haul at most.

(quoted from post at 06:20:25 05/02/13) Great picture of the "good ol days" or was it just "ol days" HaHa :D I would love to have a 730 western like that.

There were good days and not so good. The fact that I was 40 years younger was good but I would not want to go back to sitting out in the grain dust and at the mercy of the weather again. That 730 (8224554) is long gone but I have another one identical to it out in the shed ready to go.

Another good picture. I see the date on the picture but I think there are places that could be taken today on May 2. Not here because the ground is just white and melting almost as fast as it is falling. A 730 western is on my list to hopefully own someday. Thanks for posting

You are right, we could almost have the same photo here yesterday if the sun had shone. Normally we would be raising a little dust in the field by now but its either mud or frozen ground under the snowbanks right now. Not good at all.
That photo made a calendar shot a few years back. I still have the calendar. Only wish I'd had a better camera at the time.
Another shot from 74, burning and cultivating some wheat stubble .

(quoted from post at 15:12:29 05/02/13) I'm not sure what year the 730 is but in the 1974 picture it still looks like new. That is one sharp looking tractor!!!
The 730 was 11 years old at the time of that picture. I was young and ambitious and pretty handy with turtle wax at the time. Little silver paint on the rims helps too.

Love the 730. What a great looking tractor. I just bought a 730 wheatland a couple of weeks ago. I grew up on a 730 but in our area there where no wheatlands. Always wanted one. Love to see them working.

Wheatlands or wide fronts are all that we see in this country. Here is some video of mine at work cutting grass a couple of years ago.
