Miller pro 1100 rake

I am looking at a used miller pro 1100 rake. I would
appreciate any comments others have about what to
look for as far as common problems. Also, any idea
what cost is for parts/rebuild if needed? Thanks

My in-laws have one they bought new. I don't think they've done anything to it other than grease, teeth, and whatever other regular maintenance I can't think of. Covers about 150 acres/year. Not sure where to get parts.

I've owned a rotary rake for 6 years now. I did the research and determined, at the time, that the Miller Pro was the best on the market. I ended up buying a S&K 11H , which looked like the Miller Pro and had the same features such as the cam design, rotating 4 wheel axle, removable 4 tine arms..and may indeed be a Miller Pro. I cover about 250 acres per year and the only thing I have done to it other than grease and adjustments, is put a tube in a tire that went flat. I have one beef however, it seems to seep gear oil out of at least two arms.. but may have been due to overfill at the factory as over time I haven't put gear oil in it and it still reamins over the inspection port. Getting it set up right.. raking height and pitch..was a chore and after setting it up I only use one particular tractor so I don't have to readjust it. Around here it cut my drying time by a day as the rake places the hay somewhat on ends in fluffy very airy leaf saving windrows. I bought my rotary rake from my local John Deere Dealership, so parts will not be a problem as the machine gets a bit older.
