712 or 714 John Deere disk chisel

Hi, we are thinking about getting a better disk chisel. We have a 1710A John Deere disk chisel and it bounces terribly, even at 3mph sometimes. I ran a 712 Deere and thought it was awesome! My question to you guys is what is the difference between a 712 and 714 John Deere disk chisel? I have heard that the 712 disk chisels had problems with cracking. We would be pulling it with a 2wd 4755 john deere or a 8670 mfwd. Both tractors are running 175 hp. Want to stay with 11 shanks if at all possible. Thanks for all thoughts and suggestions

we have a 712 that we pull with our 8400 at 6.5 mph. havent really had any problems with it. was a 9 shank up till last year when we added 2 more shanks. have pulled it with quite a few different tractors, 8760, 8400, 4840, 8630, 4430, 7800...it has held up well to all of them...

as far as i know a 714 is just newer and the disk gangs are raised and lowered by hydraulics where as the 712 just uses springs to apply pressure. but i havent really compared them very much, or ever used a 214 so i cant really say which is better.
