IH 596 Disk

Has anyone on here used a 596 disk? I have been trying various colors (used) and none of them really cut like I want. My one neighbor has a Sunflower, ( forget the model) that really does a great job. Even in dry, hard soils. However, I can't afford a new disk right now. He suggested trying to find a 596 IH disk. They are supposed to be pretty aggressive in the cutting of trash. Also, built heavy. I would rather have a disk stop me in my tracks, might have to cheat and lift a little, than sit on top and do nothing. Any thoughts ? I don't want a color war. Thanks. Rob

for a conventional disc a 596 is very heavy. used one this last spring and it cut up little trees very well. i'd think it would do what you want it to do.
